Flying Change Leadership is a culmination of many decades of experience from it’s founders, Linda Bracken and Scott Brodie.

Both are passionate equine trainers and competitors and both have also had a lifetime of experience developing leaders.

With Flying Change they bring all this together to deliver a unique and impactful experience. No horse riding is involved and no previous horse experience is necessary.

Primarily based at the outstanding learning facilities of Scott Brodies equestrian centre around an hour south from.the CBD of Sydney, this is an easy off-site training day for your team. We will work with you to create a bespoke day to suit the aspirations of your organisation.

We are also able to offer this experience at centres in both Brisbane and Melbourne.

There are also plans to offer residential two and three day courses at the luxurious Barranca Corporate Retreat in the NSW Southern Highlands.

Over a day, we work with you to get to the point where the horse will choose, at liberty to “join up” with you through the strong communication and trust you have formed with that horse. Building confidence and resilience as you go. To achieve this it’s about being “as firm as you need to be and as soft as you can be” - you can’t physically “make” a horse do anything. They are far too strong, so this is about how you can ask the horse the right questions and reward the right answers. Horses teach us to be “in the moment” – this is how they live.

As far as we know, they don’t ponder over what happened yesterday and they don’t worry about what might happen tomorrow. For us to form a successful connection with the horse, we also have to be totally present. This idea has been used around the world to help people refine their communication styles and understand the effects they have on those around them.

This approach has been used to help returned veterans dealing with PTSD. More than once these people have told the story of how doing this work with horses has literally saved them. It’s a terrible fact that many of our veterans have lost more of their buddies once they got back home than they did in service. We have based our program on this transformative work.

The Team

Linda Bracken has had a long career as a Senior Media Executive with the ABC including being the Manager of triple j and the Head of Audience Strategy. She has a reputation for creating high performing teams and developing managers and on-air talent.

Part of her portfolio at the ABC included the Training Unit for ABC Radio and part of the team leading to the ABC to be accredited as an RTO. She has had a life-long association with horses as an owner, trainer and competitor.

She is a Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chair of the Australian Horse Industry Council.

Her love of coaching high potential people, combined with a life-long equestrian background led to the creation of Flying Change Leadership - a corporate executive program based on the principle of horses helping make better humans.

Scott Brodie is an outstanding horseman and trainer. A former NSW Mounted Police Officer, he has made it his life’s work to coach both horses and humans to realise their full potential.

Along with his high-level dressage credentials, he is also known for his work training and rehabilitating retired racehorses giving them a second career. Scott has also led pioneering work in Australia using horses to help prison inmates and returned defence force personnel with PTSD, turnaround their lives. This remarkable work has been adapted to influence the creation of the Flying Change Executive Equine experience.
